Zombie World

The dead have always walked among us, from the shambling corpses of Eastern European folklore to the drug-created zombie of Haitian voodoo. Now, in the post atomic-age, advanced science and globalization have increased the threat a thousand fold. Since World War II, the number of zombie outbreaks has increased every year, while governments desperately try to cover up the facts.

the term "zombie" has been applied to an undead race in horror fiction.

Since the late 19th century, zombies have acquired notable popularity, especially in North American and European folklore.

Vodun

According to Vodou,a dead person can be revived by a bokor."Zombi" is also another name of the Vodou snake lwa Damballah Wedo, of Niger–Congo origin; it is akin to the Kikongo word nzambi, which means "god".

The zombi astral is typically kept inside a bottle which the bokor can sell to clients for luck, healing or business success.

Pharmaceutical explanation

There is mainly no pharmaceutical explanation for creation of zombies in the world.

Societal reinforcement of the belief was hypothesized by Davis to confirm for the zombie individual the zombie state, and such individuals were known to hang around in graveyards, exhibiting attitudes of low affect.

Davis traveled to Haiti in 1982 and, as a result of his investigations, claimed that a living person can be turned into a zombie by two special powders being introduced into the blood stream (usually via a wound).

Popular Culture

Mainly zombies come/originate from movie characters which played part in many zombie movies.

The figure of the zombie has appeared several times in fantasy, fiction and entertainment.

A new version of the zombie, distinct from that described in Haitian religion, has also emerged in popular culture in recent decades. This "zombie" is taken largely from George A. Romero's seminal film The Night of the Living Dead.

Haitian zombies are found in the voodoo (or vodou) tradition in Haiti. Their defining feature seems to be that they lack free will, and perhaps lack a soul. Haitian zombies were once normal people, but underwent zombification by a "bokor" through spell or potion.

Philosophical zombies are found in philosophical articles on consciousness. Their defining features is that they lack conscious experience, but are behaviorally (and often physically) identical to normal humans.
